Forum Poll

I was just wondering if the pep flag community would be interested in having a forum based website rather than this public style of a blog.

I admit there are some things that should remain exclusive to some of the people who check up this website. So a forum seems the most fitting a place to host our little community :)

I am planning on paying for its own domain name (___.com) and web hosting online. It would be more YOU oriented and there would be private posts for the special users. With a lot more organization and information.

What I would like to request from the community, is to answer the poll I have whether to start it up or not, I don't mind paying for it as long as the community is open to contributing to a website that has potential to educate and inform the rest of the community. :D

If enough people say yes, that would mean that there would be lots of moving to a new address with new content, etc. Let me know I really want to make more changes!

I think it would be nice to keep both open if possible, just because the forum would be nice for discussing topics, but for competition info, the blogspot layout seems more effective. Just my two cents. =]

well i was considering that the events have SO many comments that'd itd be easier to organize in forums.

And if I were to keep BOTH running (which I most likely would do, because blogspot is free anyways) it might be a waste of money to spend on the forums if everyone weren't to migrate there.

I like the new forum idea instead. Let's do away with annonymity once and for all..as i post annonymously :)

You also would need to consider having multiple moderators correct?

Just to cut down on spam and other problems...

Mm...SPAM =P

I would definately use the forums, just because it would be more user-friendly, rather than posting comments.

it would be a lot more professional looking if this site were to be forum based.

i vote forum.

People are going to abuse the forum any which way they can just as they did with the chatterbox. The upside to it is that you can read all the messages instead of it being deleted after some point like in the chatterbox. The downside is that a forum is not free (for Jen), and I'm sure everybody in the community is too stingy to want to contribute to keep it up and running.

I think you should just keep the blogspot Jen. I think if you created the forum it may give you the same results in regards to negative comments and etc. People can sign-in with a user name and still remain anonymous because we wouldnt know who they are. I think you should save your money Jen. Blogspot is gaining popularity as the days progress and plus it would be unfair for you to keep up with two websites.

the thing about signing up with forums, is that it is REQUIRED to sign up with a valid email address..

I believe that any of the moderators will need to approve of the users prior to them posting on some areas.

I'm sure there will be flaming but I can hope that it could be more controlled because the hassel of signing up for a username is more troublesome than the current cbox.

Honestly, either way you go, judging by the poll, half'll go with it and the other half really won't have a choice... so ultimately the outcome will have to be accepted... y'know?

hmmm i guess the question becomes...what do you want to achieve? Stay true to your initial intentions of creating this community site, whether it is blogspot or forum, and you'll make the right decision. As Seffy said, those that don't like the idea won't have a choice either way.

Good luck :)
