Bishop is not doing USA anymore until all of the pep flag judges are replaced with new ones. " Dora the explorer " needs to go 1st.

Anonymous said...

Seems like all the teams not associated with USA as staff / the ones that don't go to USA camps / the ones that don't feed USA money are sick and tired of USA prioritizing money over talent.

Carson has been beating Channel Islands and they are not associated USA. So what are you trying to say??

Anonymous said...

I'm not trying to say anything about carson. Carson is great as always. If you read the sentence carefully I'm talking about the other schools who aren't participating in USA. If you want me to be specific, I'm talking about how USA always prioritizes the placings of Hoover and Glendora because they're hungry for money. Nothing about Carson at all, they're awesome.

narbonne?
lb poly?

c'mon guys, keep pep flags alive! we need a positive community!

Anonymous said...

SoCal Twirlies a.k.a. Morse dropped out of Agoura? They were on the tentative schedule.

Anonymous said...

I'm glad that we are in another competition season but was sad to see only three schools competing. Where is Narbonne, Long Beach Poly, and everyone else at regionals? Do they have teams? Hopefully everyone goes to West.

Anonymous said...

Where is everyone at this year?

Anonymous said...

Temple City High School is competing in the CHEER PRO's circuit this year. They competed on Sunday along with San Pedro and Bishop Montgomery.

Unfortunately Narbonne is out this season 😧😕

very surprised that twirlies got 3rd. they had a good routine but did really bad. whats up with twirl vs twirlies anyway?

Anonymous said...

Twirlies is the "elite" competition team while twirl is restricted to Morse.

Anonymous said...

So Morse and "twirlies" are two different teams??? why do they use the exact same moves? Morse qualified for nationals "twirlies" is not a high school. Very interesting how this plays out. Considering Morse Morse alumni works for USA

Anonymous said...

Morse will be the competing team for school-based competitions.
Twirlies will compete in spirit competitions that are not exclusive to schools, since Twirlies have members who do not attend Morse.

I think alumni are still testing it out though since it is expensive to run two teams.

Anonymous said...

Ok let's just be honest here. Nice job CI for changing up that 1 flag routine you brought to agora. This new one is much much improved.
I wonder why that is? There are so many elements there that I see you've taken from other winning routines. Don't act surprised because I'm not. Whatever it takes to win right?

atcheng said...

First time seeing Carson's Single's routine....ya'll bettttaaa weeeerrrrrkkkk mamas! You're so freakin cute!!! #slaymama #slllaaayyyyyy

Anonymous said...

To the person who said that CI took components from other winning routines, uh bi**h wheerrreeee. I'm not even channel alumni or supporter, so don't even talk about me being biased. You're just not so happy that possibly the school you support doesn't do as well. Lol like Bishop winning first at Street dance.... How? Every team works hard and I'm not trying to discredit teams, but there has to have been some cheating involved with judging. Other teams were more well deserving. NOT saying CI. But there are some teams that deserved better placing.

Anonymous said...

I'm not the one who claimed that, but CI took a move from Morse's winning 2015 1-Flag routine. That rotating mid-air splits thing, though they butchered it and doesn't look as graceful.

Anonymous said...

Am I the only one that noticed twirlies looks a lot like Carson? Seems like no one is original anymore. It's about time for some new choreographers to hit the scene. Carson seems to be the only team that's keeping to their style as well as being innovative. The only team (out of two) I truly respect. Channel's routines are starting to look the same with just different music. It's so predictable I can tell what's coming next. I feel like they trying way to hard to stay at the top. The music they use is typical channel music but nah, it's time to try something different create your own lane. Pep flags is starting to get repetitive. Maybe it's time for me so break the ice and bring a NEW style to the game lol

Anonymous said...

The only similarities I see between Twirlies and Carson are their marches. Other than that, Twirlies and Morse have the same style (well duh, they're under the same coaches and alumni).

Anonymous said...

totes agrees that morse looks like carson. their style has evolved but it used to look like narbonne then channel and now carson. i do give morse major props for being innovative and coming up with new visuals tho.

is "twirlies" allowed to compete at usa nationals against other high school teams if twirlies is independent?

Anonymous said...

Good question. I don't think so since they have to be affiliated with a school? I'm thinking that Morse competed at Brea Olinda to qualify for nationals, and then they had Twirlies perform while Morse practices and perfects their routine since the members on Twirlies don't seem to be on the Morse team. We'll have to wait for the lineup to be released.

Anonymous said...

Twirl and twirlies are not associated with each other.(*from what I heard)Yes their coaches are Morse alumni but that's it. "All" of their moves are based out of morse twirl that's why they look identical. Just trying to keep the pep flags spirit alive by emerging with a new team. Sucks that twirlies cannot compete at USA just because they're not school affiliated. But honestly I liked they're routine when they competed at west for being a new team! keep it up!

Anonymous said...

Competing at streetdance and at west seems to be the hype this year. It was honestly really fun watching all the pep flags teams compete! Hopefully long beach and narbonne along with other pep flag teams are able to compete at these events next year!

Anonymous said...

Updated? Was there a screw up when calculating the scores which caused them to award CI instead of Carson? What's the T that I seem to be missing here?

Anonymous said...

I thought Carson was second in 2 flags. What happened?

Anonymous said...

Apparently USA called a penalty on Carson that they didn't have. Therefore altering the final score. So with the corrections, Carson is the rightful nationals winner in two flag. Got my info from a friend who spoke to one of their coaches.

Anonymous said...

Dang, that sucks. I don't feel bad though lol

Anonymous said...

What were the penalties that Carson made USA judges investigate? The only definite penalties I see from Carson's routine is the 2 drops that they had.

Anonymous said...

Let's be real, Bishop beat Carson at Streetdance. Why didn't Carson make the judges investigate at that comp? Was it because CI had already placed 6th?

Anonymous said...

Carson needs to give us the full story. What penalties were penalized that weren't suppose to be penalized?

Anonymous said...

Surprised with Morse's placements! Their routines were really solid, especially their 1 flag routine! Their slip ups really cost them that title though. Should've placed second at least imo.

Anonymous said...

Can we set the record straight PLEASE

(1 Flag)
1. Carson
2. Channel Islands
3. Morse

(2 Flag)
1. Channel Islands AND Carson (Co-Champions)
2. Morse

Channel Islands and Carson are sharing the title for championship.

Anonymous said...

Yes the scores where really close about a .13 difference, however with the correction of the extra penalty that brought carsons final score up by .5. So they won by .37. Common USA its common math. I'm glad it was corrected. Now channel overnight, fedex or amazon prime that banner and trophy!

Anonymous said...

Carson was penalized for two drops instead of only one drop.

Anonymous said...

I heard Carson and channel split the award , but that doesn't make sense because wouldn't the judges have awarded them both at nationals? And if indeed Carson was penalized for an extra drop, that would have either A. Not made a difference and channel would still be the winner or B. It did make a difference and they would have beat Channel Islands.

Anonymous said...

The answer is B.

Anonymous said...

For all those that are wondering what really went down, contact USA camps headquarters. They can give you the real story. Talk to Korina. Stop all this nonsense. Live Love and Twirl. Btw, Carson nor anyone on this planet owes anyone anything.

Sevenno deleted all of the comments on the Carson 2 Flag Finals video so it definitely is true. Carson was penalized for two drops but Carson claims they only dropped once. The drops were at 0:41 and 2:45 at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SmvFlDhw5k&t=1s so 0:41 was not a drop but if you all watch their other performances at West or Streetdance USA, the girl being carried has two flags to create the V angle but because she dropped at Prelims and Finals (she played it off by creating the point angle), it was not a "drop" but in fact, she dropped it at both performances. But because she dropped it at Prelims and again at Finals, Carson is claiming it was not a drop. I had so much more respect for Carson but after this incident, I am no longer a fan. I am not here to bash on Carson or glorify Channel Islands but I am here to defend what is right. Carson, let's be fair and give credit to where it's due. Congratulations Channel Islands and I am sorry that your team is being robbed for an incorrect claim.

we don't know what carson was penalized for. whether it was an extra drop from 2 or 3 deductions? unless they want to share their scoresheet with us. who r u going to believe? gossipers on the internet or someone from their squad and the actual scoresheet? so everything is just your opinion until we can see evidence!

Anonymous said...

Correction* Carson got penalized for 3 DROPS instead of 2 DROPS. So before going CSI on this. Check your facts. And had this been in reverse, every coach would've done right by their team.

Anonymous said...

I'm not here to create drama but the comment about 2 drops being penalized instead of 1 drop is accurate. CI was also told by USA that they are sharing the title with Carson. Whether you'd like to believe it or not, the truth is told. We can go on with our lives and get ready for #CompSeason2018!

Anonymous said...

For the people trying to create drama surrounding the fact that Carson is lying about their drops, I just have to laugh! You think they would stoop that low to get a national title? You guys are rediculous. If you watch the award video they clearly clap and cheer as channel is mentioned as the 2 flag champions. Those girls are so humble and sweet. So I for a second do not think they would lie about being penalized unfairly. But I guess the haters want proof, and I hope Carson shows it, that way all you bitter people who clearly must support a certain school can finally be silence and let Carson enjoy their well deserve victories!

Anonymous said...

So here's the tea. Just spoke to someone from USA. The reason why its a co championship is because they cannot take away what was already given. And at the time, Channel WAS the winner. Carson called a review because they had a penalty for an extra drop that they didn't have. But we all know Carson's execution for finals wasn't at its best. Therefore, making it hard to determine whether the flag was there intentionally or not. But after long hours of deliberation, they've decided to remove the penalty because, indeed, carson only had two visible drops. With the retraction, this puts Carson at first place. So no team is at fault here. And although this is considered a co championship. In USA archive, it will say Carson was the winner for pep flag 2- flag. So there it is. Just a repeat of what was told to me. Congrats Carson and Channel for being the first in history to be co champions. Both teams had great routines out there. Just embrace what it is, and just hope for a better season next year.

Isnt it funny that since 2010 channel has been winning by default or just got lucky.

2010: music "skips" they beat morse the clear front runners.
2011: they have no competition morse and carson didn't compete
2012: carson didnt make 1 flag finals but hoover did? wtf
2013: no competition
2014 got what they deserve
2015 got what they deserve
2016 no competition
2017: won by mistake

Anonymous said...

i hope carson get a trophy and banner as the CHAMPIONS of 2 flag division, they so should!

Anonymous said...

Lmao!!!! I'm sorry whoever wrote that comment made me laugh in a good way. Carsons routine was far better than channels wasn't as clean as they performed it at regionals but for taking a year off they slayed that floor.

Anonymous said...

Channel Islands is the most hated pep flags team. #hatersgonnahate

Anonymous said...

Can someone honestly critique all the team flaws? Like NO SHADE WHATSOEVER, but I'd like to hear what people dislike about Channel, Carson, Bishop, Morse, Narbonne, etc. and also to the person above who said that channel won because they had no competition, umm RUDE 😂

Anonymous said...

Also I'd like to hear what people like about the teams too! Like what do you actually like about them as well?!!! People just let out your opinions, maybe it could help better those teams. That way other teams could have a chance for some spot light. For example,. A team like SPSV, can you imagine if they took nationals one day? I think it'd be awesome to see that! Something different than the usual Morse Carson or Channel. What if Narbonne finally won again. It's been like twenty years since they've taken the champion title. I just think that in order to keep the pep flag sport alive we need to support ALL THE TEAMS. And definitely never refer to a certain year for Channel as having "no competition" as stated in an above comment. Maybe someday you can talk about pep flags and not be asked if it's color guard or cheer because people will know what it actually is! Just spread Love, Positivity, and Twirl. Also CONGRATS TO CARSON ISLANDS!!!!'

Anonymous said...

Can someone please post videos of Narbonne Season 2015-2016 if they have any onto YouTube????!!!!

Anonymous said...

Lmfaoo!!! Im dead of laughter at this comment. Awkward to admit but this person is right... Channel at times is not clean at all compared to other teams yet they still continue to make it to finals and winning championship titles that others deserve. Idk, I believe everyone should be given a shot and chance to shine

Anonymous said...

It's not hate lmfaooo just stating the obvious facts. Dont get butthurt about it

Anonymous said...

Yes! Totally agree with this comment!!! We're such a small community that instead of criticizing one another and "hating" on eachother, we should be supporting each and everyone of our teams! Literally USA is Donald Trump and the pep flag community is America. We cant allow them to destroy us and our potential bonds lol. Let's make the pep flag community better!

Anonymous said...

Isn't it funny that since 2010, people are BITTER about the years that Channel has been winning Nationals?

2010: Music cuts out and audio is not playing through speakers. Team keeps performing and when the audio technician figures out the problem, the music (which had been running the whole time) finally plays over the speakers by their ending section and the team is only a second off from the music. If that isn't impressive, I dunno know what is.

2011: Morse's advisor doesn't let them compete at Nationals. Carson has team but team falls apart before competition season begins. Who's fault is that? That doesn't discredit anyone else's win. You don't say Adele only won the Grammy because Celine didn't put out an album this year. You didn't come thru? Stop complaining there was no competition. There was competition. Teams just didn't show up.

2012: Carson didn't make 1 Flag Finals but does win 2-Flag. CI wins 1-Flag. That Bollywood routine was LIT. Congrats to both teams.

2013: SAME AS 2011. Calm down. Either show up or shut up.

2014: Everyone earned what they deserved. Congrats Morse!

2015: Everyone earned what they deserved. Congrats again Morse! Go Tigers!

2016 SAME AS 2011 & 2013. We all know that Morse's advisor doesn't let them compete at Nationals whenever she feels like it. But why does Carson take so many years OFF? They are at summer camp with a full squad but by the time comp season rolls around, they are no where to be found.

2017: Carson comes back after their third year off since 2010. CI shares the 2-Flag title with Carson as Co-Champions, after Carson complains about one of their drops that was counted during Finals. Morse did well, despite the fact that they only have alumni help and no formal coach anymore.

Comp season is over! And so are all the past years since 2010. What's done is done. Let's just be excited that a lot of the teams had really great years this 2017 season and hope that it means that 2018 is even more exciting!
