I'm a Channel supporter. I honestly thought Bishop would've taken 1st place for Novice but I guess the judges didn't think so.
Really happy for Narbonne's 'comeback' year. GOOD JOB GIRLS! Hope you guys get a title back soon! btw the 1-2-3 placements for Nats were almost the same as Agoura Regionals, if anyone noticed. Also, I'm not a huge Glendora fan but I think people need to stop complaining about the results. Complaining here isn't going to change the results no matter how hard you cry, complain, or demean another team. I'm sure Glendora put in a lot of blood sweat and tears just like every team out there. If you want to complain, you should contact USA directly: https://usa.varsity.com/About/Contact-USA/
What's the line up for MDDTUSA?
Oxnard HS and CI competed.
That's it?More schools need to compete at MDDTUSA...
Nothing really much to talk about this season as CI practically won every competition including the Nationals. Not to undermine the team’s success, they worked hard and they deserved all those titles. It’s just different when both Carson and Morse are around. Narbonne improved a lot this year, but I think they still needed time to get back to the top. They still have a lot of work to do and really need to focus on their consistency. Hoover was never a threat to CI this year, unfortunately.I can’t wait for next year though. Two members of CI are graduating, and both Carson and Morse had two years to practice their routine and fix whatever problems they have by then. And Narbonne, for sure will be back. It will be interesting.
Sad to see Arcadia's drop this year.. hopefully they bring their game back next year.. would like to see them rank.
Arcadia didn't even compete when Sharp competition was held in their very own gym, which raised question about their readiness this year.
Until MMDT change their judging system, I don't think they will attract any school. It is rigged and the Japanese team are not being graded to the same standard as the American teams. Sure they are fun to watch with their colorful outfits and flags, but that's about it, they are fun to watch. Individually though, they are technically inferior and they barely move and throw, unlike the American teams who cover the entire field with only three or four members. Because the Japanese team has many members, they barely move, each movement is followed by a long pause while waiting for others to execute their moves, but from a distance and collectively, they look very entertaining. This is the reason why they cannot compete in one flag division, because they will lose that magic, and their inferior moves will become apparent. I think it is unfair for them to compete in the same category, they should compete in props or novelty category, or any category with props and mascots. To top it off, all the teams are held hostage for hours until the pageant is finished to announce the winner. Why not separate the two? Announce the winner after the competition and before the pageant. I would not be surprised if no other team decides not to participate in the future.
Arcadia never competes in their own sharp fundraiser because they are not allowed to by their advisor. The advisor wants everyone in their entire pep squad to participate in the fundraiser fairly from the set up to the clean up. It is not a matter of readiness. They competed in West, which was exactly 1 week before their Sharp, therefore it is clearly not a matter of being ready or not.
I will buy it. It "clearly" is not a matter of being ready or not. So they were ready then? because their performance didn't look like they were ready. Otherwise, they could have at least qualified for finals. So they were ready?
If you're so curious then why don't you go ask the USA judges how Hoover placed third and made it to finals, as well as how Glendora won the novice division, because obviously you don't know much about pep flags. Why are you so curious about "how ready" Arcadia is? It's none of your business, nor can you do anything about whether or not a team is ready to go to any competition if you're not their coach. And it's not in any team's power to make finals when it comes to USA, because even with hard work and dedication, USA is way too biased and political. In my opinion either Arcadia or San Pedro should have made finals and Bishop or TC should've gotten first place in the novice division. But with a coach in USA, a team that goes to USA camps, and USA being biased and political, the question is, how can Hoover not go to finals. Go worry about your own team and stop questioning why certain teams go or don't go to certain competitions.
Being ready or not is not a factor to making finals... Each team will decide on their own or will have the decision made for them by their advisors if they want or is allowed to go to a competition. Who are you as an outsider to tell a team that they should compete at a Sharp being held at their own school and say that they're not ready just because they don't do so. The effort each team puts into the routine and courage for going to competitions whether or not a team is ready is what's admirable. You're shaming a team and questioning their readiness and how they didn't make it to finals just because they don't compete at their own Sharp... when you don't even know all the factors that go into a team's decision to compete or not... what are you a pre-schooler?
“Being ready or not is not a factor to making finals” - ROFL!, I hope that you are not aspiring to become a coach someday because your principle sucks you will make worst coach in the history of mankind. A competitive team or individual needs to be mentally, physically, and emotionally ready in order to win. If you think you are not ready, don’t bother wasting your time. Readiness is the single most important factor needed to win in any competition. “The effort each team puts into the routine and courage for going to competitions whether or not a team is ready is what's admirable” – WRONG! ! The effort and courage each team puts into the routine TO GET THEM READY prior to competitions is what's admirable. If you are in charge, you don’t just send your girls to compete. You get them ready and build their confidence that they are going to win, not just compete. It’s like sending a group of marines to a fight when they are not ready, they are bound to get slaughtered. And whoever is in charge, it’s not just a job, it’s her/his responsibility. He/She owes it to the ladies. Again, I hope that you are not in charge because your reasoning sucks, lol!“USA is way too biased and political” – Of course, every time that a fan’s favorite team loses, the organization is biased, according to them. It’s a common complaint from a loser. So your comment is not surprising at all. Even WTA, NBA and Olympics are biased, according to losers. Does that mean that Arcadia will no longer participate next year? Why go to a competition then if they think it is biased?, then whine and complain later.“You're shaming a team…” Did I? how so? If you are an Arcadia supporter, then I say, you shamed your team. You are not defending them, you are dragging them down with your “well-thought, professional and educated ” comments. I didn’t say anything bad about them. I asked about their readiness, that is true, but shamed them? That was you who did it. “Why are you so curious about "how ready" Arcadia is? It's none of your business…” “Go worry about your own team…” - Coming from a big fan of Arcadia. Should I say more? Do we still need to wonder why teams are not getting support from other teams? Because of fans like this, so defensive and so combative. “what are you a pre-schooler?” – question from an Arcadia fan with a PhD, lol!Take your medication girl, and check your blood pressure. You’re not hurting anyone’s feeling other than yourself. And try not to lose sleep over this one. LMAO!!
Furthermore, how do you expect a team to compete when they are physically running the entire sharp fundraiser from sun up to sun down, those girls are there at the crack of dawn making sure the campus stays clean and to help serve food to rude asses like you. It would be physically exhilarating to work a fundraiser and compete in the same day.
You are shaming them you were the one that that said "Arcadia didn't even compete when Sharp competition was held in their very own gym, which raised question about their readiness this year." Honestly why does that even matter? Which competitions any team goes to it decided by their coaches. Why are you directly attacking them and singling them out on not going to their own competition in the first place. YOU are the instigator and YOU are the one that is defensive and combative. You broke down each part and analyzed a comment, obviously have way too much time on your hands. This discussion shouldn't of happened in the first place. And you can argue that every competition is biased. But when you see a team have 5 drops and still make it to finals, that definitely says something about the organization. Not practicing your tricks and dropping 5 times is a sign of readiness right? You directly attacked a team and of course they would fire back. Please have some courtesy.
"Arcadia didn't even compete when Sharp competition was held in their very own gym, which raised question about their readiness this year." Why is this conversation happening in the first place? You are the one that attacked Arcadia first commenting on their readiness, which had no impact on whether or not they compete in their own Sharp competition. Who cares if they compete at that Sharp? Of course they will defend themselves. If you stop being so ignorant and actually read the comment you'll understand that it was referring to the fact that they WORK from dusk to dawn on that day. Your theory of "Arcadia not being ready" is flawed, based off the fact that they competed and placed 3rd at West one week BEFORE the Sharp. Everyone competing in USA knows its a scam and their favorite teams will consistently place. Why go then? Because they are the only major competition in the pep flags division. In order to compete competitively, the only option is USA. Sharp competitions are a joke. Lets be honest San Pedro and Arcadia both could have qualified for finals. Do you think Hoover was ready with their 5 drops? I do not see you commenting on their "readiness." Why? Just cause they placed in finals? If you consider having 5 drops during prelims, along with a sloppy performance deserved 3rd than you should get some glasses and humble yourself. You wonder why teams are not getting support? Its cause of supporters like YOU, so easy to judge and attack other teams and by being rude in your responses analyzing every single sentence from that comment. Do you think you are being friendly by calling them out on their "readiness" that did not even relate to Sharp? Obviously have too much time on your hands LOL!!! <- (acting like you) Grow up, your topic isn't even relevant, and you are not even relevant. ROFLMAO.
Hey Guys!~ This year Cheer Pros is going to open up a Pep Flags division in the hopes of getting some more options for pep flags teams. I know that TCHS is for sure planning on attending, but it would be great if we could get a ton of teams there so it could be a real competition!Cheer Pros has rules and judging that are very similar to that of USA - and the set up is very different than other competitions. More info can be found here! http://www.cheerpros.com/ Feel free to email me with any questions or anything at all! Hope to see you all there!Marta BourjeiliTemple City High School Pep Advisor Mbourjeili@tcusd.net
