does anyone know the reason for them kicking us out...
and then us having to pay JUST for the awards that are gon' be WAY LATER???

Anonymous said...

pageant / saturday competition are both different events.

Anonymous said...

yes, they want more money.

Anonymous said...

GO NARBONNE!!!

Anonymous said...

What about Pedro? They placed fourth in one flag & got a trophy for it. they deserve some recognition

congrats to all teams who competed at UC Irvine!

Wow, great job, Narbonne! I had the Knights to take a top prize, but woo-hoo to EVERYONE who participated! Was it fun?

I can't wait to see videos from the entire season!

yesterday was such a fun day. great job to all the teams that competed!! it was weird that everyone had a little bit of craziness at the ends of their routines, but what can you do, right? just keep supporting and encouraging them to do better.

the set-up was a little weird. yes, the two categories were split again this year, so there was a 1-flag twinner and a 2-flag winner, but they also announced the "highest point winner" in each category. when we went back to get ready to exhibition, narbonne was there too warming up. it was so exciting to see both teams together, getting ready to perform.

then we found out after my girls performed our exhibition that narbonne wasn't performing an exhibition... only the highest point winner. =/

although this format made the pageant shorter, it sucked because only 1 short flag routine had the chance to exhibition. in every category, we only got to enjoy the highest point winner. it kinda reminded me of how in the past both 1 and 2-flag routines were combined within the same category and whichever team's routine won, got to exhibition.

regardless, it was a fun competition weekend. maybe next year more and more teams will start coming. the team from japan was AMAZING. i hope someone got a video of it to post for our pep flag community to enjoy. congrats again to narbonne and ci!

Anonymous said...

hmmm.. that last comment makes me laugh.

Anonymous said...

i agree.. i don't know whether it was a congratulatory comment, or if it was an implicit wey for mark to brag about being the highest point winner and being able to do an exhibition

mark_anthony said...

my last comment was both an informative comment and a congratulatory comment. for people who not only love the pep flag community but the dance/drill side as well, although it was nice that the pageant was shorter, i think i would have traded that with the opportunity to watch ALL the winning teams in EACH sdcategory/division size.

just wanted to clarify that. i don't want my comments being skewed or interpreted in a different way than i intended.

Congratulations to all of the teams for doing great this season! Keep on practicing, and keep up the great work!

Last but not least, GO NARBONNE! Congratulations on your win at Miss Drill! I love you all!

Anonymous said...

THIS YEAR, POLY AND NARBONNE GOT LUCKY!!!THEY ONLY GOT 1ST CAUSE CHANNEL AND BISHOP FUCKED UP!!!

Anonymous said...

lucky is a factor in competitions.

all's fair in love and war.

DUDE whatever about Mark Anthony's comment. Channel Islands have and will always try to find ways to assert themselves as better than everyone else. "Awww only the highest point got to perform" with a =/ added to soften and mask the insult...please stop gloating. CI prides themselves on having this long streak at DTU and this was Mark's way of saying, "Oh and btw, back in the day we used to have only ONE pep flag category. SO, technically, we're the highest point winner, so we would have STILL WON overall(even if we lost for two flags)." GAWD get over it and stop trying to take glory away from the TEAMS that have BEATEN YOU this season!

Anonymous said...

when narbonne found out that ci was the only ones performing i kept telling them that they should just start walking out on the floor and perform anyway because they deserved it just as much as ci deserved to perform. i honestly wanted to see them perform because they were the best ones of the day. great job narbonne and to all the other teams that have not yet been mentioned.

mark_anthony said...

i love that people like to try to read between the lines, even though there is no ulterior motive behind it. i really wanted to see narbonne perform again. i have always loved watching narbonne.

we personally went up to narbonne, and my girls and their girls gave congratulatory hugs. there was no animosity toward each other. the best two routines competed that day won. i have known janine and dee dee for a long time and i'm glad to see that narbonne has someone great watching over them.

others can speculate and instigate to try to cause drama, but in reality there isn't any. drama starters will always be anonymous, while the rational supporters of this pep flag community are proud to wear their name on their sleeves.

if you have an issue with me, then take it up with me. and if you have to be anonymous, then don't accuse anyone of anything without giving them a chance of rebuttal. i find it funny when someone tries to accuse me of taking the glory from the people who have beaten the girls. i know each one of those teams' coaches and personally do not have any drama with any of them.

but everyone is entitled to their own opinions. so speculate all you want.

congratulations to everyone this season. you've made it a very memorable one. thank you jen, for creating this webpage so that we may enjoy each others company and try to strengthen the bonds between all the pep flag teams.

Anonymous said...

Mark Anthony, go ahead and provide a rebuttle. I'm waiting to hear it actually. Here are your two comments below.

"yes, the two categories were split again this year"

"it kinda reminded me of how in the past both 1 and 2-flag routines were combined within the same category and whichever team's routine won, got to exhibition."
My question is this, what was the need for these inserted comments? Saying that only the highest point winner got to perform is a fact and that statement would have been fine. These two statements of yours, however, imply a value judegement that says if this was back in the day, ci would have been 1st because there was only one category. Or do you not agree? how so? and if you don't agree, tell me, what was your motive then for that insert?

Yeah, i'm anonymous so what, at least I can stick to my guns and say what I really think as opposed to playing pep flag ambassador and perhaps masking your true thoughts.

Anonymous said...

Yes, I too would like to see what the rebuttal is.

And speaking for myself, I think being anonymous is a safe way to keep drama away from the squads because the thoughts of one person never reflects the thoughts of the whole. Staying anonymous lets people say what they want to say without negative reactions towards the school they support. Lets face it.. the pep flag community is a small enough community where there's at least one person that knows who you are and knows what school you support.

Good for you for revealing yourself, but just because someone stays anonymous, doesn't mean they're not "rational supporters of this pep flag community". It could mean they don't want to start anything between squads.

Anonymous said...

stop hating! you'd be in the same position as mark if that happened to your team. i understand mark 100%. but really mark, it's ok, don't listen to them. this year just wasn't your year. but next year will!

screw the haters!

Anonymous said...

wow!! screw the haters? really is that your rebuttal mark under the guise of anonymous. i speak my piece and i think what i have to say is very legit. I mean it makes complete sense. Not knowing you personally or attacking you as a person, just looking at what you wrote objectively, it's very clear why someone like myself would make that assumption. Not defending yourself and brushing it off or letting it go only leaves one to imagine...(you fill in the rest)

yesterday was such a fun day. great job to all the teams that competed and lost to the overall winners CI!! it was weird that everyone had a little bit of craziness at the ends of their routines, but what can you do, CI still came out on top, right? just keep supporting and encouraging them to do better, but not better than CI.

the set-up was a little weird. yes, the two categories were split again this year, so there was a 1-flag twinner and a 2-flag winner, but they also announced the "highest point winner" in each category, which was by the way, CI. when we went back to get ready to exhibition, narbonne was there too warming up. it was so exciting to see both teams together, but more exciting to see my team getting ready to perform.

then we found out after my girls performed our exhibition that narbonne wasn't performing an exhibition... only the highest point winner, which was CI if I didnt mention it. =/ SUCKS FOR YOU.

although this format made the pageant shorter, and I'll say this again: it sucked for narbonne because only 1 short flag routine had the chance to exhibition. Again I repeat, in every category, we only got to enjoy the highest point winner = CI. For those of you who didn't know it even though I already mentioned it over and over, it kinda reminded me of how in the past both 1 and 2-flag routines were combined within the same category and whichever team's routine won, being CI, got to exhibition.

regardless, it was a fun competition weekend, because we still won one division and didnt break our streak. maybe next year more and more teams will start coming and will still lose. the team from japan was AMAZINGly lame. i hope someone got a video of it to post for our pep flag community to enjoy a good laugh, also cuz I told people not to post anything but still wont post my own videos. congrats again to narbonne for stealing half the title back, but woohoo for overall winners ci!

SO WHAT?..BISHOP WON ONE FLAG AT WEST TORRANCE AND HAD "THE HIGHEST POINT" THAT DAY. THEIR ONE FLAG ROUNTINE SCORED HIGHER THAT CHANNEL'S ONE AND TWO FLAG. SO WHAT IS YOUR POINT?

Anonymous said...

you are taking marks (i personally dont know mark) comment out of proportion. all the haters stop with this nonsense. if mark has hate for narbonne he would not be friends with them. mark may have plenty of pride with ci and his team but he is to kind to say nonsense like that so stop assuming and think that you knoe what his motives are because you dont know who he is in the first place. stop assuming and acting like you knoe everything. you can provide bull evidence all you want but the majority of us know that you are only shitting yourself because you are too weak and disbelief that ci can still win. you hate or is jealous of ci that is why u dont give them the recognition they deserve. mark on the other hand is generous enough to congratulate the winners and accepts his teams placings and is not only congratulating them becuz he has to, its because he knoes the other teams deserve it more than his team with that lack of performance. i say to you haters keep talking all this nonsense because your lack of evidence/knowledge are only making yourselves look stupid!

congratulations to bmont ci narbonne long beach etc for big time winners this season

Anonymous said...

you definitely must be someone from bishop because last time i checked, the top winners this were Long Beach Poly, Narbonne and Ci. I'm sorry, BMONT did well this season much better than in the past, and I do give them props for coming out strong...but they didn't win anything big this year, sorry. The titles were Nationals and DTU, neither of which BMONT won. Not taking away from their great season, but don't include them in the limelight when they dont have a big title(Nationals or DTU) to deserve that recognition. How silly and ridiculous is that? And here you go calling everyone else stupid! Please! Watch what you say because you don't realize you sometimes make yourself look that dumb as well.

And to mark, he hasn't responded yet, why? Because it's true. Those were his motives, to make sure everyone knew CI won overall. How does putting him on blast take away from the team? It doesn't. CI is a great team, everyone knows that. The issue has always been with their mentality is that its all about winning and being first and never anything below that, and quite frankly, that statement he wrote completely backs it up. That with the fact that he hasn't backed his shiet up yet waiting for this to die down or to come back with a great response. I'd rather him own up then give me BS to read.

Everyone can tell me to get over it, but no one seems to be able to breakdown my argument and provide legitimate reasons to why i'm wrong or answers to my questions...hahah i wonder why..maybe cuz i'm right..duh!

Anonymous said...

you know what mark, your comment doesn't even address what's stated about you. Last time I checked, animosity and bragging have nothing to do with each other. There isn't EVER animosity with CI when CI is the ONE ON TOP which you clearly stated in your post. So yeah, state there was no animosity and drama, NO DUH!

And to this comment
"thank you jen, for creating this webpage so that we may enjoy each others company and try to strengthen the bonds between all the pep flag teams."
Enjoying each others company must meen trash talking and enjoying it as long as it's not about you..because we're kidding ourselves if we were to say this season was mostly peaches and cream with everyone on this cbox ha! but that's another topic, no response for that side topic necessary, just get off your high horse.

Anonymous said...

are you people stupid? read it. mark said after his girls performed, they found out narbonne wasnt going to. last year the winners of both categories got to perform, this year only the highest point winner got to. they were surprised by that. geez kids, did you all pass your lit classes?

Anonymous said...

and wheres the bragging at?

Anonymous said...

that's hillarious! Look at this person trying to clown on not passing lit class!

"Are you people stupid?"

You don't say you people, that's grammatically incorrect.

HAHAHAHAHHAAHA what an idiot!

Anonymous said...

you people need to get over it. so what if ci won overall? so what if mark loves to brag about how his teams HAVE to be on the top. and so what if bishop didn't get SHIT this year cause they SUCK!. get over it. we know who the real winners are and thats that.

Anonymous said...

fans seem more like pep flags addicts than performers themselves.

Anonymous said...

the so what about mark, my dear, is the fact that he likes to act all high and mighty like he's pep flag ambassador of the world. CI has always had the mentality that you said and what he's demonstrated. If you like to brag, so what, JUST OWN IT and stop trying bullshitting.

Anonymous said...

Wow anonymous, you must know a lot about CI's mentality. If you want Mark to back his shit, why dont you give me some evidence of how CI's mentality is all about winning. I remember at Nationals, as 4th place winners, they still showed their faces to take pictures with other teams. Where was the 3rd place winner?

Anonymous said...

Okay, carson hater. You're just as bad with your innuendos.. Just say it..

"I remember at Nationals, as 4th place winners, they still showed their faces to take pictures with other teams. Where was the 3rd place winner?"..

Don't patronize us and come out and say "Where was CARSON?"

HATERRRRRR

Anonymous said...

the person 2 posts above me is right.

to the person above me, dont try to back shit up. you know they were right.
where was carson?

probably bitter. bitter cause they didn't qualify for one flag finals, bitter because they aren't the national champs and BITTER because they aren't as good as they used to be.

i'm not from ci. believe it.
but the fact that they got lower than carson and still went around even with tears, but with smiles on their faces, that shows some class.

OBVIOUSLY, carson does not have any class if they're just gonna leave and be like that.

don't try to say any shit back because you KNOW i'm right. and you know that if they did have any respect for the pep flag community, they would've stayed to congratulate the other teams.

bitter ass.

Anonymous said...

damn who the hell cares if you stay to congratulate the other teams. do you honestly giving a flying duck if other teams like you or not? this isn't USA'S NEXT TOP BESTFRIENDS! THIS IS USA'S NEXT TOP NATIONAL CHAMPS!

Anonymous said...

well obviously, it's bad karma. if they are gonna be rude about it, they aren't going to win.

cause they were even ruder this year, and look at their national title.

oh wait, they didn't qualify for one of the catagories, and they got 3rd in the other.

too bad carson.

Anonymous said...

OKKKKK... who's bitter now?! And, that other person is right. If it was, "USA'S NEXT TOP BESTFRIENDS!" maybe I'd agree with you.. Maybe.

And yes, I'm sure bad karma does factor in when it comes to who wins what. I mean, who says its all about hardwork and dedication? That's ridiculous!! Your absolutely right... It's bad karma that made carson get 3rd... hmm.. I wonder if you think that about other schools, as well............?

Anonymous said...

let carson be! every team is different!

Anonymous said...

All we gotta say is we're coming back next year and we're out for blood.

Long Beach Poly, better check yo'self b' fo' you wreck yo'self.

Nah, niggas. We be messin' wit you. We got nothin', but mad love for our next door neighbors.

Even though, you guys and everyone else all up in here stole our oldies theme for one-flag...

Anonymous said...

are you kidding?
carson TOOK mickey from long beach poly.
carson also took uptown girl from bishop.

and poly and narbonne did everlasting love at REGIONALS before carson's dumbass could do their ugly ass one flag that didn't even qualify.

so think before you speak.

carson's music was stolen.
think of them, as the new bell if you will.

Anonymous said...

ah, excuse me but Carson used Everlasting Love in 2004 doubles. Get it right before YOU speak! Besides, who cares who used what. No song is off limits to anyone! Puhlease!

Anonymous said...

'can we all just get along?' season is over, tryouts around the corner, then camp (for those that participate). Let's look forward to 2009!

Anonymous said...

to the person above me, tell that to the person that said:

"Even though, you guys and everyone else all up in here stole our oldies theme for one-flag..."

and by the way, the said one flag. not TWO flag. you dumbass. carson may have used everlasting love for two flag, but did someone ELSE use it for two?

no. the person that was obviously from carson said: people stole from our ONE flag.

people are so stupid.

Anonymous said...

not above me, but two people above me.

Anonymous said...

i love how people start NEW drama to try and not address the initial reason why there was drama on this thread to begin with, and that was mark's comment.

Anonymous said...

so where's Mark's response?

Anonymous said...

probably editing and revising as we speak.

Anonymous said...

any music can be used my anyone... just as long as it doesnt follow through the same order or mirror image another team.

Anonymous said...

its common to use one or two songs that another school already used. that is evident by the fact that all schools recycle songs at one point. however, in doing so the team (figuratively) loses some originality points. just don't jack an ENTIRE mix like we-know-who, cuz then damn I'd hate to be that school!

Anonymous said...

Dayumm. Next year is gonna be goood.

Anonymous said...

i think of all the twirling years, 2006, and 2008 has to be the best years.

2005 and 2007 didn't really have a big effect on people. it was just... blah.

Anonymous said...

wow seriously join a team. most of you need to be under some kinda of pressure because if ya'll asses were competing i'm pretty dam sure you would not want spectators to be talking about you by name as if they know you.

Anonymous said...

So did ci win DTU? Isn't that like the 11th year in a row? Amazing. They are like unbeatable. Good job to all the teams!

Anonymous said...

ci were the 'highest point' winner, however, they lost in 2 flag, so i think their reign of winning stopped with respect to winning 2 flags

Anonymous said...

their dtu "streak" is kind of broken.. if were talking about 2 flag

Anonymous said...

keep in mind that the divisions used to be combined at DTU... and there was a year or two that CI's ONE FLAG won the division in the past... so a two flag "streak" isn't quite appropriate.

Anonymous said...

keep in mind that when CI won with one flag, their 2 flag took second. So if it were split, they would have taken both. bietcheez

Anonymous said...

see i knew it was all about this "streak" that's all CI supporters care about is putting themselves up on top.

Is what they're saying inaccurate? NO. I agree, if it was back in the day when it was together, they would've taken the title and YES, they're streak is and would've been maintained.

That's OBVIOUSLY the message that was MEANT to come accross, but was done so in a sly backhanded way. JUST COME OUT AND SAY IT with pride and OWN IT as opposed to simply IMPLYING IT.

CI will always be the way they are, so stop trying to act like everyone else is so dense they can't see through your covert messages.

I'm over this particular thread because i'm logically right and haven't been proved otherwise.

Again, congrats to CI for being the "highest point winner" but congrats to NARBONNE for being victorious over the two flag division.

Oh and might I add, how might have the results been different if it was a combined category? I don't know, the judges may have judged differently because the routines would be up against each other. They weren't this year bc there were two divisions...SO, could that have played a role in the highest points? hmmm no one will ever know maybe, maybe not.
