everything else is performing only once. if you win in your category, you get to perform for exhibition during the pageant finals.
im not too sure if they will have the overall high pointer in that category that gets to perform like last year.
like narbonne won two flags but only ci's single got to perform because they were overall high pointer. we'll see. good luck everyone!
Short Flags prelims comepete on Saturday. Then everybody leaves and come back for PAGEANT FINALS where they announce the winners, performance from all "High Point Champions", and the crowning of Miss Dance/Drill USA title. Of course the pageant finals are more expensive because it's more spectacular. This is the last and one of biggest competition of the season so Good luck to all!

I havnt seen channel this good in a long time.. they dohave a taste of channel early 2000 yrs with a mix of modern moves. ive gotta say that channel has won the season this year.. weak in the beginning but came out soo sharp and clean towards the end. great job for a wonderful season!!!!!!!

i disagree. ci was clean despite the two drops. i think it was their mount that won them in the category and overall competition. it was the most innovative creativity i saw in the pep flag category this season and in ms drill competition. regardless, narbonne deserved that second place finish.
I agree with you. Narbonne deserved 1st. Channel wasn't so great anyways. They lacked energy and showmanship. On top of that, they had a terrible flag drop. A girl had to run for the flag. Narbonne had a few fumbles but they weren't all that bad. You can say they were almost flawless.

Compare them to ol' school narbonne and you'll see the difference...no ofense but they deserved 2nd.. Plus CI was innovative and they were still able to keep their style ! And "Wendy?" Are you talking about Winnie? If you are, yes she IS a Channel alum... and she's been judging USA Nationals since 2004. You know, 2004 when Carson started their 3-peat at Nationals. If you want to call a "bias" then maybe you should have better information to back it up.
I am very appalled that someone would say narbonne lost their touch, not innovative enough, copy paste routines etc... from what I know they have always kept their touch and have truly sticked to their respective style. They have never used three flags in a routine, neither have they ever used a pyramid in any of their doubles routine. And as a added plus, They still use the same flag size carson and channel islands use to use back in the day. They are very talented twirlers that are always in sync with interesting technical tricks. As a whole, narbonne short flags are very humble to the community and they respect all the teams.
channel only had two drops and the girls fell back into their moves really fast and narbonne was had multiple fumbles... and carson was a mess. channel won i think because of their cleanliness and entertaining routein. i thinkk u should all look at the score sheets if your wondering about the placements. big difference btw.
i admire narbonne for not jumping on the bandwagon and doin the 3flags thing as they keep their originality. theyre very talented and still twirl in their signature way.. but judges want to be entertained by something new.. something narbonne needs to show more of... plus no offense the judges dont really care about flag sizes

I'm not a big fan of Oxnards, well the White and Maroon one anyways. It makes the girls look bulky and doesnt fit them well. Their maroon and yellow ones on the other hand are great.

bishop, ci, and narbonne basically have the 2-piece same uniforms.. all-pleat skirts, long sleeve "sweaters," 2 toned.. with the striping in the same place. the only differences are the colors and the logos on their chests. narbonne has like a cartoon character girl, ci has cross flags, and bishop has their mascot written out.
i, for one, think a-line skirts should be banned from pep flags! they don't move.. pep flags is cute and bouncy. a-line skirts are for cheer and song.

Channel Islands is losing 2 members bcuz their graduating. My resources told me that 6 or 7 girls are trying out for the team. The team is very strict. They dont let anyone watch them try out unlike the other teams.The girls are being taught about discipline and hard work. (Not trying to say that other teams are not working hard). Channel Islands might not have that much of a financial support but what they have are alumni' who comes back to teach them what they have learned about being a flag girl.

CI does have a habit of getting cocky after a win. but they also have a habbit of loosing after a win. you guys gotta see a trend. your losses are the reason you're pushing your self so hard. please don't disappoint me again with another loss because you're over confident next year.

Last year CI wasn't cocky. Their routine was better than my teams...it was just that it had too many drops and too creative.. Don't get me wrong 2008 routine was very innovative but wasn't executed very well.. Poly's 2008 wasn't very difficult but very clean and executed flawlessly..

i think it'll be poly or bishop.. Poly in my opinion has always been a strong team and considering that they only one returnee this year and next year should be a better year with more girls returning.
Bishop has always been a top contender, but there has always been that complexity factor in their routine that just stops them from being on top. Their routine's complexity reminded me of CI's in 2008, which was all over the place
let's hope that next year, they'll be cleaner.

Just because narbonne doesn't look like the other pep flag teams such as channel carson or bishop... doesn't make them borning.. narbonne is a technical team.. meaning tricks twirls and foot work... what maybe they need a lil more visuals but that doesn't make them boring.. they have the hardest tricks out there unlike carson and bishop.. hell even channel
nah on the real C I has some of the hardest tricks and best visuals narbonne has potential but they are very smooth throughout their routine they seem to be stuck in the early 2000's were as ci carson and bishop are movin forward with more innovative material ..

channel, narbonne, bishop, carson, glendora, and long beach will always be the teams other teams will look up to. without them, no other pep flag team will survive.
i dont care if you disagree but glendora brought this whole "cheer" atmosphere where you can see teams developing from them.
i don't know if this is the case but channel added new elements in the pep flag world such as the bow and arrow, their 2008 mount of the leg lifts, and their school chant in the beginning of their mix as well as their chant in the middle of their routine to showcase what channel islands is all about. many all star cheer teams do that and glendora has been doing that. i love how channel is doing that because they give me goosebumps. as well as carson, their voiceover effects and sound effects or when they yell "YEAH" also like bishop... etc.
2000s? hahaha!!! more like narbonnes been stuck since the 1990s!! yeah sure they are "technical" and have pretty full twirls... but they have in no way pushed the envelope like Carson, CI & Bishop have these last few years!!! I hate to say it, but LBP is the new Narbonne!

UMM when was Narbonne's last USA win? back in '96 over a DECADE ago! that was back when pep flags was hardly as big as it is now, when many teams haven't even existed. you make it seem like poly's usa championship didn't count for anything, yet they have consistently been placing top five since 2005. yes I do admit narbonne has the best twirls techncally as they are all in unison, but poly, ci, carson, and bishop have much harder tricks than they do. face it, the top schools are changing. it's not ci, carson, and narbonne fighting for the top three spots; morse, bishop, and poly are slowly being added to the list shunning narbonne

Carson alumni of 2005...yes....I actually think CI Is still one of the best teams around pep flag word And I'm guessing in the future also:. I also had to admit Poly and Bishop are great contenders... They have the ability to surpass the pepflag powerhouse teams.. As for my team Carson... I dnt know what happened...they have the skills to be great again...but they have to make new trick like other school.... Their regionals performance was flawless but I think they got a lil too confident with their routine..they should have added more stuff to it and took out some of their signature moves...this is my personal opinion...newer teams are stepping up their game....n older teams are still in their making innovative materials and really showing why they are a team to look up too... Every team has their down moments...but dnt count them out in the future...u never know what will happen...

and Narbonne just proved that they should have been at nationals had it not been for a misunderstanding in paperwork as i heard someone said through the grapevine.

Correct me if I'm worong but Bishop is full of ideas but they have a choreographer something Narbonne doesn't have.
Everything you see in their routine has to come from their minds and for girls who haven't received any real formal training besides the kind they get from alumni and returnees, they're doing pretty well just like someone else commented earlier.

i dont mean to bash on narbonne or whoever said that but when it comes down to perfroming on the floor do judges care about who uses coaches or choreographers or alumni or the team themselves? no. they want to be entertained and they want to be "wowed." narbonne needs the WOW as do many other teams that are still "classic" i really think that if narbonne can innovate with the technique and cleanliness they do have then they have plenty of potential

I am a alumni from Carson highschool...I wasn't on the team but i helped the choreography and formations of the 2005 routine...I didn't coach but suggested some moves....sorry for the confusion

Whoever posted that list of placings if all the teams went to nationals, i think that's a bunch of shit to have narbonne at the bottom.. um they beat carson at miss dance/ drill... and if I'm not mistaken carson took 3rd in doubles with bishop taking 2nd... I'm sorry but if narbonne whould of went to nationals and performed they way they did ( or better ) than they did at miss drill.. I'm sure they would of taken at least 2nd place... and for the comment about poly has been in the top five ... um narbonne has always been in the top three when they competed at nationals.. with the excecption of 08.

yes top 3.... and 2001 they took 3rd.. and 2002 they took 2nd..2003 they flopped because of the amount of fumbles and drops... 2004 3rd.. 2005 and 2006 they didnt even have a team you dip shit.... with theam coming back and gaining 2nd place.. again always in the top three with the exception of 08 and 03 know your stuff b4 you start to downgrade another team

So leave the standings where they are and accept that you guys didn't place and MOVE ON!!!
