I wanted to say that I was the one who said there was no pep flags on the form. The following comments were not from me. I wish people would be a little chill. I know the flags are competitive but let's have some good sportmanship and that includes the fans.
We contacted the lady in charge of Spirit Day Championships and she's been getting a lot of calls about the registration form concerning Pep Flags.
There is still a Pep Flag division here at West Torrance. There was just a mix-up and the wrong form was used.
Just white out the divisions that you are not entering and write Pep Flag (1-Flag) and/or Pep Flag (2-Flag).
Hope this clears up all of the confusion. See everyone here at West!

i think it happened like that in 2002, also. ci got 2flags and carson got 1flag.

I was referencing USA nationals and not west torrance. it's just kind of hard to express you're opinion without a chatterbox, so I decided to post on this instead. Ever since the 1 flag category started in '05, the two championship trophies never went to two seperate teams (1flag and 2flag) so I was just expressing that this may be the year that it'll happen!
carson or bishop will either take home 2 flags.
ci or bishop for one flag at nationals this year.
I think if CI cleans up a lot they have a good chance at the 2-flag title. I think that their routine doesnt is somewhat anti-climactic though... their flag change is a little too early this year...
But theyre still awesome! Go CI!

if i were to choose between the teams to take it, itd be carson! their tosses are perfect and theyre soo together. i also dont wanna leave out channel. they are one of my fave teams cuz their routine changes every yr. this season is hot!

but with the almost-flawless execution and routine, it doesn't excite me like their 2004 routine. is it just me?
i believe that music has a great impact on routines.
you may look good but if you twirl to songs that aren't catchy - there is no possibility of me not liking it.
on the other hand, bishop montgomery's one and two flag mix are nice. mama mia soundtrack is so catchy. makes you want to move. channels madonna is hot and their two flag mix is spunky. i love how they twirl their 3 flag to guns and roses. and their grand finale ending song gives you goosebumps. their routine is so "climatic". i love morse's two flag mix. it's so hardcore. i love it. and i'm glad they didn't make their one flag as a chipmunk love mix.

Absolutely! For me, it is Glendora's love music that gets me pumped up! I am also a fan of bishop's mama mia mix.
well I really like channel so I really think that they might have a chance at winning.
Of course you can't forget carson 'cause last time I saw them their excecution was almost perfect.
poly's mix is pretty good too. my cousin showed me before their first bball game performance. its upbeat, not too technoish, and its cute, but aggressive.
Well you have to admit that all teams have their own unique styles.
I think the most unique is Glendora, I haven't really seen them @ comps.
I agree, I think Glendora has something to watch out for. They are so different than every of the other teams that it makes them more exciting to watch.
I have a feeling that Carson, CI, Bishop and maybe more are going to change their rutine... I'm excited to watch them n maybe finally I'll be able to see LBP & Oxnard....

Carson is going to lose on this comp. There are too many good teams and since west co. I'm sure all the teams have either clean up or made it more dynamic.

Comp Season! How exciting! It's been awhile...
It'd be nice if Morse competed @ West. But they're limited to the number of comps they can attend - at least when I was last on the team 6 years ago. Admin wasn't very supportive of allowing Morse's teams to compete in whatever comps they wanted to compete in. I don't know if that's still the case now. But last time Morse competed @ West I think was in 2003.
Aside from that, I think it's awesome to see the creativity and energy in the routines recent years' teams! Ya'll are dope. Keep up the awesome work. =)

whats wrong with the judges now a days? carson has practically the SAME ASS ROUTINE as every other year. they just have the talent of picking the cutest music. but their routine is THE SAME. come on... at least morse bishop and channel can come up with more intricate twirls and tricks.

nothing's wrong with the judges. you just cant put all your eggs in one basket. subtle changes that are highlighted well tend to work best. that's what the judges remember.

lbp needs to get back on top. i like their routine but it needs improvements.
i always have high standards for ci and carson, and i think ci pulled it together and really came through today. carson didn't. bishop was bishop. lbp dropped a lot but i wouldn't rule them totally out. narbonnes 1-flag improved, but their 2-flag needs a miracle.
but anyways, i think it's always cooler to see teams come out weak in the beginning and build up stronger toward nationals and dtu. its so unimpressive to see teams that come out so strong get weaker throughout the season.
keep it up ci, narbonne, lbp, and san pedro. bishop and carson.. you guys came out so strong.. its disappointing to see your teams stumble so close to nationals.

carson fans, you need to suck up how they placed. stop with the excuses and deal with it. i've seen way better from them and expected more. i agree with tough_love. you can really tell what teams have been working hard. IMO, carson and channel are head to head.
IMO; CI did great in this comp. They were messy on the other comps but they clean it!!!! Their mount is so impressive to me, they are so creative n the mount! I also injoyed there one flag rutine. other schools have really cute rutines. I think the places on 1-flag should have been different, but it is what it is...
Congrats on everyone who place, hope everyone brings there A game for nationals.
P.S. For the person that said "ci rutine was blah" was either not looking, can't see or just simply BITTER!! Get over it! If you want your team to win, then GO HELP THEM!!

lbp's mount had tosses/exchanges and the girl on the front does blind tosses to the outside base

lbp does left and right splits and i thought that was amazing since they only had 1 returnee
poly has a 5 person mount though they have a one person mount also with a girl holding her leg up (like a scorpion but her leg is straight - but timing was off so she didn't do it on the one person mount)
to the person who said the narbonne girl tossed randomly. it wasn't random. the two girls in the front fumbled so they didnt toss. one of the girls in the back, her toss slipped so she ended up not tossing that's why it was messed up. their routine needs a lot of cleaning and they need to practice their tosses. but im glad they changed a few things.

i like lbp's music, the transitions are good
lbp's music has a really great tempo like channels 2003 mix. it's calm yet aggressive. their transitions are really good too especially going into their chasers. their routine improved from last years routine. i also love the fact that some of their formations aren't symmetrical to one another. i especially love when 3 people do their trademark tricks and 3 other people do some other trick. i loved it.
any chance for them to get back on the top? nationals is coming upp :D

long beach poly has only one returnee? their performance was not bad for a team with only on returning member. i like their routine too, just needs to be executed better.

lbp might have a small chance. but to be completely honest, who doesn't have a chance? we all saw what happened last year. no competitions prior to nationals have a direct effect on the performances at nationals. in terms of choreo. lbp does stand a chance. they're routine shows difficulty (unlike carson) and simplicity that makes it easy to watch (unlike bishop). the only thing they lack is the charisma that their competitors have. IMO they look like they have no confidence. if they stop with the drops i believe they will place high at nationals.
the other top teams, such as bishop, carson, and ci, need to clean as well. the only team that didnt fumble and west was ci, but i think their 1-flag could use some more difficulty. most of bishop's tricks aren't really tricks. it seems like they just switch hands and flip around their flags without really tossing them in the air. carson's been doing the same tricks since 2005. the only things that ever change are the music and formations and endings. they did lighten up on SOME of their trademarks, though.. like in their 1-flag, they didn't do their signature spin around while holding their flag like a cane thing after their little line where they walk forward pumping their shoulders, and they didn't have their single-file line show off in 2-flag. other than that, same stuff, different order.
i commend bishop and ci for their innovative routines. but if anyone wants to take it this year, they better pick it up and start cleaning. for now it looks like ci's on top.
let's not forget about morse though....
i agree with tough_love. ci's two flag was really good but one flag could do some work. carson's two flag wasn't that amazing but their one flag finally won so that's good. bishop was clean for two flag and okay for one flag. lbp has a small chance with two flag esp. with one returnee but they have poor execution and they do lack confidence. these four teams are going to have to clean clean clean until nationals. but i think its between ci and carson.

The format of awards was different from all the other years... Instead of having a "Champion" for each division, there was a Champion for all the divisions within 1 discipline (i.e. 1 champion was announced for ALL the hip hop divisions of that day, and that was the team with the highest score). It was pretty confusing for all of those who are used to the old system. So, the last person that left a comment on the results wrote them the right way... There wasn't a champion in both divisions, just an overall champion.
Congrats to everyone that competed! It was an exhilirating day. But I agree with everyone... No competition results directly affect the outcome for Nationals. It is going to be anyone's game! And that's what's going to make it so exciting!!!

carson is starting to have that narbonne influence. copy and paste. with little "wow" effect which really doesnt do much. the partner show-off was ugly. i liked when they did the full show off and then went into partner showoff.

I disagree. i think ci has a great chance of taking 2-flag if they perform the way they did at west. so does carson if they perform the way they did at agoura. i also think ci should've taken 1-flag at west. though their choreo isn't too difficult, their execution was sharper and cleaner than carson's, whose choreo isn't too hard either.
2-flag will be between ci and carson for first, between bishop and morse, and maybe lbp for 2nd or 3rd if they all clean up their routines. narbonne has the most work, but like i said, it's anyone's game at this point.
i do have to say that lbp is doing a fantastic job with 5 newbies and 1 returnee. i'd even go so far as to say they're right behind bishop if they don't drop so much. i'm surprised that they've pulled it together and i have a lot of respect for them and their coach. also, that narbonne girl that fell during their 1-flag opening had the best recovery i've seen for a slip. she smiled the whole time she was getting up.. and it looked so genuine. i wish all the teams the best, esp. lbp and narbonne. i hope the underdogs show everyone up again.

Amazing that Channel Islands performed both routines with no drops & minimal mistakes! Kudos to them!!! Carson and Bishop, step your game up! But last year's Nat'ls was a big surprise and LBP has great potential once again! Let's see who brings it the table that Sunday because that's the day that matters!

I think it's going to be Carson or Channel's year. Carson placed pretty high even with drops which means if it was clean they could have swept. It's going to be up to who is clean at Nationals and who has no drops I think.
