Hey Jen, heads up, they are announcing two flag finalists at 2:45PM-ish and then announcing one flag at night.
It's pretty funky!
And where did Morse and Oxnard go?
my prediction for USA Nationals finals: two flag- 1st Carson, 2nd Channel, 3rd Bishop, 4th Narbonne, and 5th LB Poly ****** one flag- 1st Carson, 2nd Bishop, 3rd LB Poly, 4th Channel, and 5th Narbonne.
my prediction is...
shut up and wait until nationals!
CANT WAIT
HOW DID IT GOING? drops? surprises? recaps.. anyone? what happened to narbonne and oxnard :/
is that the finalist order according to prelim scores?
MAN!!!! Narbonne didn't make finals. T-T
No, that is not by score. It is alphabetized.

CONGRATULATIONS LONG BEACH POLY PEPPERS!
It's unfortunate fans/twirlers of other squads need to take the spotlight from this year's first place team.
Long Beach Poly's first place finish is not an indicator of a new dynasty, nor should it be considered a threat to all the previous winners. Their win should not be regarded as "luck" or a sympathy victory.
All squads work hard throughout the season to attain a bid to Nationals, a placing in Nationals, and, lastly, a ranking in USA Spirit Nationals. Each individual squad's commitment and dedication should not be under scrutiny.
We all as a community should just sit and enjoy the spectacle of each wonderfully and uniquely choreographed routine. Afterwards, engage in POSITIVE lively debate in a constructive forum based on a person's observations.
The Pep Flag World is CHANGING. New schools are entering the arena. Old powerhouses should welcome the competition and strive to raise the bar even higher. What worked before in the late Nineties may not work now. No team should consider itself as a constant.
And, to conclude, leave the conspiracy theories for the political arena. Are you really that affected should some team outrank another? Do you really lose sleep over it? Does your face break out like a pepperoni pizza over an annual competition?
If you answered yes to at least one question, you need to gain some new perspective. Try world hunger, poverty, war violence, and endangered species.
Flags is Life. Now, get a new life.
videos anyone?
Great Insight from "No Respect"
but you would have made an even stronger impact if you revealed who you were.
the fact that your last line is Long Beach Poly's quote:
"Flags is Life"
is just reinforcing 2 Facts:
1.) "No Respect" is either a current Pepper, former Pepper, or avid Pepper fan
and
2.) that Long Beach Poly does NOT want any drama and would appreciate it if these immature haters would stop.
what's done is done.
nothing is going to change the results.
the only mature thing to do now is to congratulate the Peppers, reminisce, and look forward to next year.
but of course, that would be too much to ask, since i am sensing that the the immature, the rude, and the haters will be dropping their comments.
be strong LBP! you have my support
and NO im not a current/former pepper.
just a former twirler, fan of ALL teams, and life long supporter.
Everyone in this pep flag community got MODED! There's a fine line between cockiness and confidence that was clearly defined at nationals. Congrats PEPPERS.
Total Slanguage alert...
what's MODED?
im too old for this kind of street talk!
MODED=like oops you thought wrong. Like the maury show on paternity tests..someone talking shiet saying its not my kid..and then it turns out it was...that's MODED
any videos of morse or poly up yet? and where's 1 flag
Wow, I don’t get to go to competitions anymore, and since I, too, thought that West would be a good yardstick for Nationals, I was shocked to see the final standings.
Of course, I ought to know by now that each comp is an independent occurrence from another – as they should be. Not only are you dealing with different judges and their own opinions, you’ve got different circumstances that factor in that day. It’s up to each squad to perform their best, and if you can proudly walk off the floor to say, “yup, that was it right there,” then you’re already a winner in my eyes! All you can do next is leave it to the judges’ to render their opinions, which by the way, may differ from your own.
I can only imagine how excited/surprised/elated Long Beach Poly must be feeling today, this week, this month, heck, make that years to come. But still, I’m certain that even Long Beach Poly would have wanted to win against everyone’s best execution of their own routines.
Congratulations to all who participated at Nationals!
To those competing at Miss Drill, have an awesome time!

bishop montgomery 2nd?
typo or announced wrong on sunday?
someone wanna look into it?
someone upload the dvd videos from finals on youtube when they come out! i didn't get to go and want to see finals, not preliminaries!
and so we can see the best of the best and not get in the way of having to see all the bad teams.
why are you guys so bitter that the underdogs are winning? when bishop won at other comps for one flag, you guys were bitter, now you guys are bitter for poly for winning. just get over it. the placings are set. if you guys think that poly was so bad and didn't deserve first, why won't somone order the scores and post them up like that other comp?
i'm pretty surprised that poly took first (not a bad surprised) but more surprised to see that it wasn't one of the schools that have taken first years previous to this nationals. i've been wanting to see an "underdog" team take first for awhile. all i can say is congrats to LB poly!
WHAT? can LBP really be considered an underdog team? theyve been in the winner's circle (meaning one of the teams in the Finals round) for quite some time.
they are NOT an underdog team.
but don't get me wrong! im happy that
LBP won too!!
to define an "underdog" in my opinion is like san gabriel or hoover taking nationals titles.
i disagree..LBP can be considered underdogs..the definition of an underdog is someone not expected to win or more frankly, someone expected to lose. 2008 nationals was the year of the underdog. It goes unsaid by everyone else, but i'm sure no one will underestimate any team from here on out.
and stop saying **** like... oh if ci or bm performed better, lbp wouldn't have gotten first. but they didn't, and just because they've been consistent, a champion should perform well under any condition. anyone surprised that hoover took the 6th spot?
Either way LBP won. They deserved it. Underdog or not, they kicked ass.
im not surprised Hoover took 6th because they are good and are in the works to be even better.
i think this is their 2nd or 3rd time placing but not making it to the final round, which is still a pretty good achievement for any team.
and you're right. NO ONE SHOULD BE under/over estimated. anything's game in the world of "COMPETITION"
the Nationals end result of 2008 just reinforced that fact.
congrats to lb poly for a super job, and everyone else!!! i hope the year was fun for everyone, from football games to rallies, and i hope the bonding, sharing time together, and just having FUN!
EVERYONE wants to win, of course, and every team put effort and determination on the floor sunday, so props to every team!
peppering is a SPORT! i hope everyone sees that. i am just a fan, but if you look at the time, hard work, team effort, competition = sport. Thus, one or two school will not win the championship crown every year. There will be rebuilding years for some school, and thus, some school has build their sport program (pepper). All in all, this is good for the sport, competition will rise, team will work harder, team will be more tough, team will do more tricks to want to win...
Lastly, its all about character, and it shows a lot on sunday. Sportsmanship...
congrats everyone! and to the seniors.....damn college will be fun!!!!!!!! whos stoked about prom? graduation? =)
Hey I understand Bell High did not let one of their girls perform at Nationals. I heard it was because the other girls thought she was holding them back. I have seen them at camp and previous competitions and thought she was one of their best performers. During their performance at nationals I saw drops, girls faking tosses, and out of sync formations. It looks like they took out the wrong girl. They were much better with her! A word of advice to the Peppers, stick together, support each other, dont backstab and you will be a much better team. This girl helped get you to nationals and then you abandoned her. Because from your actions, you shouldnt even be called a team.
are you talking about bell and lbp combined or...?
Bell adopted the name "Peppers" as well. aka Bell Peppers
that is why it was confusing. bell improved!
Did anyone see a recap? Bell claimed 7th in 2 flag on the chatterbox BUT, actually got 12th (out of 12). Narbonne actually got 7th, oxnard 8th, san pedro 9th I think, glendora 10th, temple city 11th and bell 12th. Good job to everyone!
